RAB-7 Arrests Two Drug Dealers with 18.5 kg Cannabis in Feni Drive

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) arrested two alleged drug traffickers alongside 18.5 kilograms of cannabis during a drive near the Mohammad Ali Bazar area on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics is approximately Tk 2.80 lakh. RAB-7 confirmed the arrests and recovery through an official press release issued on Saturday afternoon (August 22, 2026).

The arrested individuals have been identified as Azizur Rahman (25), son of Nurul Islam from Siapara village, and Md. Dur (21), son of the late Md. Rofiq from Panerchhara village, both located in Ramu Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district.

According to RAB sources, acting on a tip-off regarding narcotics trafficking, a special operational team set up a checkpost in front of a filling station in Feni Sadar Upazila around 8:00 PM on Friday (August 21). When the suspects attempted to flee upon noticing the elite force, RAB officers intercepted and detained them. A subsequent search of their trolley and travel bags led to the recovery of the 18.5 kilograms of cannabis.

Assistant Director of RAB-7, ARM Muzaffar Hossain, confirmed the incident, stating that following primary interrogation, both arrestees and the seized contraband were handed over to Feni Model Police Station for further legal proceedings.
