Ansar Member Returns Lost Gold Jewelry to 73-Year-Old Woman in Dighinala

Demonstrating exceptional honesty, Ansar member Abu Hanif Mia returned two pairs of lost gold earrings valued at approximately Tk 1.3 lakh to 73-year-old Janoki Chakma on Friday morning (October 9, 2026), two and a half months after she misplaced them at Madhya Boalkhali market in Dighinala Upazila of Khagrachari district.

According to Hanif Mia, he discovered a small pouch containing the gold jewelry in front of a local tea stall about two months and fifteen days ago. Seeking to trace the rightful owner, he alerted nearby shopkeepers and residents, requesting that anyone missing valuable property contact him with proof of ownership. Janoki Chakma, a resident of the Madhya Boalkhali area, had accidentally dropped the pouch while visiting the tea stall. After thoroughly verifying her identity and claim, Hanif handed over the ornaments to her.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Janoki Chakma expressed deep gratitude to Hanif, noting that she had lost all hope of recovering the jewelry. To mark her relief and joy, she donated Tk 1,500 to assist underprivileged community members, adding a philanthropic touch to the reunion. Local residents widely praised the Ansar member’s integrity and sense of duty, hailing the act as an inspiring example of moral character and civic trust.
