BCB to ICC: Must play in India, otherwise lose points!

Bangladesh is not willing to send a team to the T20 World Cup in India. Because of security concerns. The issue was also discussed between the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday.

ESPNCricinfo has learned that the ICC has made it clear to the BCB in a virtual meeting that it is not possible to organize Bangladesh’s matches outside India due to security reasons. As a result, Bangladesh must go to India to play in the T20 World Cup, otherwise they will lose points! However, the BCB claims that they have not been informed by the ICC about any such final decision.

Although nothing has been officially announced by the BCCI or the BCB after the meeting on Tuesday.

The ICC organized this meeting after the BCB wrote a letter to the ICC on Sunday requesting it to consider moving Bangladesh’s matches from India.

The T20 World Cup will start in India and Sri Lanka on February 7 and will continue until March 8. Bangladesh, who are in Group ‘C’, will play their first three matches in Kolkata. Against the West Indies on February 7, against Italy on February 9 and against England on February 14. Bangladesh’s last match in the group stage is on February 17 in Mumbai. The opponent is Nepal.

The BCB decided to write a letter to the ICC after a decision by the BCCI. The Indian Cricket Board ordered the Kolkata Knight Riders to exclude Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL team. However, KKR bought Mustafizur for Rs 9.2 crore in the IPL auction held last December.
