BPL 2025-26: Full news of the first day

The 12th edition of BPL started today, December 26, 2025, at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The audience witnessed big runs in both matches of the first day.

​Match 1: Nazmul Shanto’s century leads Rajshahi to a big win

​Rajshahi Warriors started the tournament by defeating the hosts Sylhet Titans by 8 wickets in the first match of the day.

​Sylhet batting: Batting first, Sylhet scored 190 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Parvez Hossain Emon played a devastating innings of 65* runs off 33 balls. Rony Talukder scored 41 runs.

​Rajshahi’s run chase: Batting for a target of 191 runs, captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored the second century of his BPL career. He remained unbeaten on 101* runs off 60 balls. Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim played a blistering innings of 51* off 31 balls to secure victory with 2 balls remaining. ​

2nd Match: Noakhali crushed by Chittagong’s bowling attack

​In the second match of the day, Chittagong Royals defeated newcomers Noakhali Express by a huge margin of 65 runs.

​Chittagong Royals: Batting first, Chittagong scored 174 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The top order batters batted responsibly for the team. ​

Noakhali Express: Chasing a target of 175 runs, Noakhali could not stand in front of the Chittagong bowlers. They were all out for just 109 runs in 16.5 overs. ​

Result: Chittagong Royals won by 65 runs.
