A fire broke out at a ready-made garment factory in Pallabi, Dhaka, on Friday night. The fire broke out on the sixth floor of a six-story commercial building around 10 pm. As of last report, 10 units of the fire service are working to put out the fire.
The garment factory is located near Chandrabindu intersection in Kalshi, Pallabi.
When contacted, Rakib Al Hasan, the officer on duty at the fire service control room at 10:15 pm, told Prothom Alo that a fire broke out on the sixth floor of a six-story building near Chandrabindu intersection in Kalshi around 10 pm. Four units of Kurmitola Fire Station rushed to the spot after receiving the information.
When contacted again later, a fire service official said that about 10 units were working to put out the fire. The factory was closed as it was Friday.
However, an eyewitness from the scene at 10 pm told Prothom Alo that the community center was burning fiercely. Fire service personnel had not yet reached the scene. Hundreds of eager people were gathered under the building.
