In the interview, Messi said, ‘To be honest, playing in the World Cup is always an amazing experience. I want to be there, but there is only one condition – that I am fully fit and can make an important contribution to the team. When the pre-season starts with Inter Miami next season, we will see if I am really 100 percent ready.’
Messi also said, ‘The World Cup is always something special. We won the title last time, and it would be great to have the opportunity to defend it again. I hope God gives me that chance again.’
Messi has previously said that how he feels physically will determine whether he will play in the World Cup or not.
‘I try to feel good. To be honest with myself. When I don’t feel good, I don’t enjoy playing. So if I feel like my body is not responding, then I won’t be there,’ said Messi.
Messi’s contribution to Inter Miami’s success in the 2025 season is unique. After excellent performances in MLS, Leagues Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup and Club World Cup, he won the MLS Golden Boot with 29 goals in 28 matches.
