Miscreants shot dead a young man named Sagar in Rupsa, Khulna. The incident took place on Sunday (December 14) night in front of the Zabusa filling station on the east bank of the Rupsa Bridge. Sagar is the son of Fayek Sheikh, a resident of Green Bangla Housing.
Sagar was going towards his house in Green Bangla Housing around 10:30 pm. On the way, some youths stopped him and opened fire. One bullet hit him in the head and the other in his knee.
People from the area rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshots. Meanwhile, the miscreants fled the scene. Then the locals rescued Sagar and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital. There, the doctors declared him dead.
Rupsa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak Mir said that an investigation is underway to find out who committed the murder and why. CCTV footage is being collected. The police are on the ground to catch the criminals.
