A magnitude 6 earthquake struck Myanmar on Tuesday (February 3), the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.
Reuters news agency, citing the GFZ, reported that the depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers (6.21 miles).
The Indian media Hindustan Times said that the earthquake that hit Myanmar on Tuesday was also felt in Kolkata and various places in Bangladesh.
It is known that another earthquake was felt before it. The magnitude of this earthquake was 4.1 on the Richter scale, which is considered a ‘mild’ earthquake.
Its epicenter was in the Kalaroa area of Satkhira, 175 kilometers southwest of the capital Dhaka. The geographical location of the earthquake was 22.84 north latitude and 89.01 east longitude.
