Premier League goalless draw: Three matches in one night

There were several matches in the English Premier League on Thursday (January 1). Manchester City faced Sunderland. Tottenham played against Brentford and Liverpool faced Leeds United. Surprisingly, all three matches ended in goalless draws.

Liverpool drew 0-0 with Leeds despite controlling the entire match at Anfield. The All Reds dropped points after winning four consecutive matches. The team from Slotts drew 3-3 with Leeds last December.

Despite 69 percent possession and 19 shots on goal, Liverpool conceded a goal in the 32nd minute of the match due to a goalkeeper’s mistake. However, poor finishing saved that journey.

Liverpool is in fourth place with 33 points from 19 matches. Leeds is in sixteenth place with 21 points.

Meanwhile, City, who were in great form, also lost points. Holland and Foden failed to score against Sunderland. The Manchester team lost points after eight consecutive wins in all competitions. They also missed the opportunity to reduce the gap with Arsenal to two points in the league table.

Pep Guardiola’s team is in second place with 41 points from 19 matches. Sunderland is in seventh place with 29 points from the same number of matches. Tottenham drew goalless at Brentford in another match at night.
