Along with gold, silver is also going beyond the reach of the common man. The price of silver has increased 8 times in the last 10 times in the country’s market. Especially in the last 4 consecutive increases, the price of silver has increased by a total of 1,819 taka, which has put a wrinkle of worry on the foreheads of common buyers.

On Saturday (December 27) night, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced a fourth consecutive increase in the price of silver. This time, citing the increase in the price of acidic silver in the local market, the maximum increase has been 933 taka per bhori. This new rate will be effective from Sunday.

Yearly Statistics: Upward 10 Times
So far this year, the price of silver has been adjusted 13 times. Surprisingly, out of 13 times, the price has increased 10 times, and decreased only 3 times. Although the price was adjusted only 3 times last year (2024), the volatility in the silver market was much higher this time.
New history in gold prices
Along with silver, the price of gold has also suffered a big blow. The price of a 22-carat gold bhori has been increased by 1,574 taka to 2,27,856 taka, which is the highest record in the history of Bangladesh. This year, the price of gold has been adjusted a total of 90 times, of which 63 times were price increases.
The unbridled rise in silver and gold has put ordinary jewelry buyers and traders in trouble.
