243 confirmed measles cases reported in 24 hrs

The country has recorded 243 confirmed measles cases and 1,168 suspected cases in the past 24 hours, says the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

“A total of 243 confirmed measles cases and 1,168 suspected cases were recorded in the last 24 hours,” said the DGHS today (June 5) in Dhaka.

The DGHS said 62,287 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country since March 15.

Of them, 58,154 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far.

No death from confirmed measles was reported in the past 24 hours.

However, five deaths were recorded among suspected measles patients during the same period.

Since March 15, the total number of deaths from suspected measles has risen to 519, while the death toll from confirmed measles stands at 91.
