AS FAR Rabat Slapped with $100,000 Fine and Stadium Ban

The disciplinary board of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has issued a stern punishment against AS FAR Rabat for “serious security breaches” and fan misconduct during their Group B clash on November 28, 2025.

The Infractions: Lasers, Bottles, and Metal Tools

The match, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium, was marred by a series of dangerous incidents from the home stands. According to official reports, the total fine of $100,000 is broken down as follows:

$50,000: For throwing heavy metal construction equipment onto the pitch.

$20,000: For the persistent use of high-powered lasers directed at players and officials.

$15,000: For throwing plastic water bottles and unauthorized fans entering the field of play.

$15,000: Additional penalties for creating a “chaotic and unsafe” matchday environment.

One of the most alarming moments of the match occurred when a sharp construction tool was hurled toward Al Ahly’s players, sparking a scuffle on the pitch as AS FAR players reportedly tried to hide the object before officials could see it.

Matches Behind Closed Doors

In addition to the financial penalty, AS FAR has been ordered to play their next two home matches behind closed doors. This means no fans will be allowed for the following high-stakes fixtures:

1.Vs. JS Kabylie (Algeria): January 30, 2026

2.Vs. Young Africans (Tanzania): February 3, 2026

Group B Standings

The punishment comes at a critical time for the Moroccan club, who are currently struggling in the group stage.

Al Ahly (EGY) – 4 1st Place

YoungAfricans(TAN)- 4 2nd Place

AS FAR Rabat (MAR) -1 3rd Place

The absence of their vocal home support could prove a major hurdle for Rabat as they attempt to climb the table and secure a spot in the knockout rounds.
