The programme will continue from 9 am to 5 pm on all days except weekends, during which over 12 lakh children will be vaccinated in the capital Dhaka and across four city corporation areas.

State Minister for Health Dr MA Muhit inaugurated the measles-rubella vaccination programme in Dhaka North City this morning (April 12).

The state minister said ensuring good health for children in backward areas is one of the government’s key goals.

“The message of the programme must be spread among the people. This is an urgent initiative, and we must work sincerely to make it successful. For the benefit of the people, many temporary centres have been set up alongside permanent ones,” he said.

Urging parents to ensure their children are vaccinated, he said the outbreak cannot be controlled unless at least 95 percent of children are brought under vaccination coverage.
