Medal Distribution, Tree-Planting and Discussion Held in Lakshmipur

The Lakshmipur district administration organized a multi-faceted event featuring the distribution of the Primary Education Medal, a tree-planting drive and a discussion meeting. Held on Wednesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the program was graced by Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner (DC) S M Mehedi Hasan as the chief guest.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that there is no alternative to primary education for developing students into well-educated and quality citizens. He noted that the nationwide distribution of the Primary Education Medal is designed to encourage students, teachers, and related officials toward achieving this goal.

Addressing environmental concerns, the DC further stated that various initiatives are being implemented in Lakshmipur in line with the government’s target to plant 25 crore trees over five years to combat the adverse effects of climate change and maintain ecological balance. On this occasion, he urged every student to plant at least one sapling and properly care for it.

The event was attended by special guests, including District Superintendent of Police Abu Tareq, Zila Parishad Administrator Shahabuddin Sabu, Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Cathoaypru Marma, and District Primary Education Officer Shahjahan. Heads of various educational institutions, teachers, students, and relevant officials were also present at the ceremony.
