Renowned industrialist and social worker Moazzem Hossain is no more.
According to his family sources, he breathed his last at the age of 82 on Monday (March 30) at around 7:30 pm while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chattogram city for a long time due to old age-related illness.
He left his wife, 1 son, 2 daughters and numerous relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Moazzem Hossain made a lasting contribution to business and social reform in his colourful life and earned profound respect for his leadership, honesty and generosity.
The late Moazzem Hossain was the son of the late Sayedur Rahman who was a member of the Provincial Council from Mirsarai and Sitakund constituencies.
He was the co-founder of Saimon Hotel and the director of Eastland Insurance.
Engineer Mosharraf Hossain is the elder brother of Moazzem Hossain who is involved in the education and social development activities of S Rahman Trust.
The first Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased will be held at the Jamiatul Falah Mosque ground in Chattogram city at 10 am tomorrow (31 March) and the second Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at the Mirsarai Mahajan Hat College ground after Zohr Prayer.
Later, he will be buried in the family graveyard.
His death has cast a shadow of deep sorrow over the country’s industrial sector.
