MT News Desk

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers with a wind speed of 45-60 kph for 16 regions of the country, including the capital.

“Thundershowers accompanied by temporary west or northwesterly squally winds are likely to occur over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Khushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla and Sylhet,” the BMD said in an inland riverport warning valid until 6pm on Sunday (April 5).

The river ports in these areas have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one, the notification says.

The day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country, it said.

The prevailing heatwave may abate in some places of the country, the BMD says.
