Chattogram City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has said, event like painting competition is very important to awaken the spirit of the Liberation War and patriotism among the new generation. He also mentioned that painting competitions play an important role in the creative development of children.

He made these remarks while visiting the paintings drawn by the children and teenagers participating in a competition organised by the Chattogram City Corporation at the book fair premises in the gymnasium ground of the Chattogram District Stadium on the occasion of the great independence and national day in Chattogram today.

Appreciating their creativity and patriotic thoughts the mayor said, there is no alternative to cultural and creative activities to build a beautiful, conscious and patriotic generation. The city corporation will continue organising such events in the future.

A huge number of children and students from various educational institutions of the city participated in the competition.
