Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized illegal Indian merchandise, including sarees, three-piece suits, and UV sunglasses, valued at approximately Tk 50 lakh during raids across various border areas. The information was disclosed through a press release issued by the BGB Feni Battalion today (Tuesday, August 11, 2026).
According to BGB sources, the smuggled Indian goods were confiscated during special anti-smuggling drives conducted in the border areas of Parshuram, Chhagalnaiya, and Fulgazi under Feni district, alongside the Jorarganj border area under Chattogram. The estimated market value of the recovered goods stands at around Tk 50 lakh. Necessary steps are currently underway to hand over the seized items to the Customs authorities for further legal processing.
Confirming the operation, Commander of the Feni Battalion (4 BGB) Lieutenant Colonel M M Zillur Rahman stated that BGB maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any form of illegal entry, drug smuggling, or goods trafficking across the border. He reaffirmed that strict surveillance and anti-smuggling drives will continue uninterrupted to safeguard the nation’s borders and curb transnational crimes.
