Five additional IGPs retired

Five Additional Inspectors General of Police (Additional IGPs) have been sent into forced retirement.

The home ministry issued the order today (March 9), saying it would take effect immediately.

The officers are Abu Hasan Muhammad Tariq, Mohammad Abdul Aleem Mahmud, Md Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Kusum Dewan, and Md Towfiq Mahbub Chowdhury.

Tariq and Mahmud were serving as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Bhuiyan was working in a TR post at the Police Headquarters, while Chowdhury was serving at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah. Dewan was serving in the River Police.

The officers will get all retirement benefits as per the rules.
