Saidpur Airport gets free Wi-Fi

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has inaugurated free Wi-Fi service at Saidpur Airport as part of his government’s initiative to expand digital facilities and improve public services at airports and other busy locations.

He launched the service while returning to Dhaka this evening (March 17) after concluding his visit to Dinajpur to inaugurate the nationwide programme to excavate and re-excavate rivers, canals and water bodies in the Balrampur area of Kaharole upazila.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly said free internet facilities will be introduced at all airports and important public establishments across Bangladesh.

He said the Prime Minister is introducing the “free public internet” service as part of his party’s election pledges.

Under the initiative, people will be able to use free internet services at railway stations, airports and other public places across the country, he added.

Free Wi-Fi services have already been introduced at Cox’s Bazar and Rajshahi airports, as well as at the Dhaka Airport Railway Station and Cox’s Bazar Railway Station, Shibly said.
