Iranian President Pezeshkian Calls for International Guarantees to End War

Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Masoud Pezeshkian has called for strong international guarantees to end the ongoing conflict. He stated that while Iran remains committed to maintaining regional peace, any sustainable ceasefire must include firm assurances that future aggression against the country will not occur. Without such guarantees from the international community, Tehran believes that lasting peace will remain uncertain.

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Iranian president said he reiterated Iran’s position during recent discussions with the leaders of Russia and Pakistan. According to Pezeshkian, the current conflict has been fueled primarily by what he described as the “Zionist regime” and the role of the United States. He argued that continued military tensions and confrontations threaten not only the stability of the Middle East but also broader international security.

Pezeshkian emphasized that any long-term solution to the conflict must begin with recognition of Iran’s legitimate rights under international law. He also demanded compensation for damages caused by the ongoing hostilities and called for a strong international mechanism to prevent any future attacks or acts of aggression against Iran. According to him, diplomatic negotiations alone may not be enough unless they are backed by concrete security assurances from the global community.

Political analysts suggest that Iran’s firm stance reflects a broader strategic approach to strengthening its negotiating position amid growing geopolitical tensions in the region. As the Middle East continues to face complex security challenges, Iran appears determined to ensure that any potential peace agreement protects its sovereignty and long-term national interests.

Meanwhile, Russia has maintained close communication with Iran’s top leadership and has called for diplomatic efforts to reduce hostilities. Moscow has emphasized dialogue and political engagement as the most effective path toward de-escalation. However, Tehran’s insistence on international guarantees and compensation has added new complexities to ongoing diplomatic discussions.

Observers believe that Iran’s demands could significantly influence future negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict. As diplomatic initiatives intensify worldwide to contain the crisis, the coming weeks may prove crucial in determining whether international mediation can lead to a stable and lasting peace in the region.
