“Thundershowers accompanied by temporary west or northwesterly squally winds are likely to occur over the regions of Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet,” the BMD said in an inland riverport warning valid until 1am on Sunday (April 9).

The river ports in these areas have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one, the notification says.

Another Met Office forecast for the day says, “Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi division with hails at isolated places. “

The day temperatures may fall by 1-2C and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country, the BMD says.
