The unloading process is in progress, according to a report from the Marine Department of the Chittagong Port Authority today (April 6).
Port sources said that ships brought fuel from India, Malaysia, Nigeria, and China.
The ‘Gas Challenger’ carrying LPG from India arrived at the port on March 31 and is currently docked in the ‘Bhatiyari’ area. The ‘Shan Gang Fa Xian’, which arrived from Malaysia with gas oil on April 3, is at the ‘DOJ-6’ jetty and is scheduled to complete unloading by April 7.
Both the ‘Cool Voyager’, delivering LNG from Nigeria, and the ‘Gas Journey’, carrying LPG from China, arrived on April 5. The ‘Cool Voyager’ is being unloaded at the ‘FSRU’, while the ‘Gas Journey’ is positioned in the ‘Charlie’ area. Unloading for both vessels is expected to be completed by April 8, according to a state news agency report.
Chittagong Port Authority Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim said that they are prioritising unloading fuel products to maintain a steady fuel supply and ensure continuous power generation. All ships are expected to be unloaded within the scheduled timeframe, he said.
