Govt. plans ‘sports tourism’ centering Cox’s Bazar: State Minister Aminul Haque

State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Aminul Haque announced plans to develop ‘sports tourism’ centering Cox’s Bazar.

He said this while inaugurating the 8th National Surfing Tournament at Laboni Beach in Cox’s Bazar today.

The State Minister said, new sports activities will be held across the country from April 30 and work is underway to make sports mandatory in the national curriculum from the fourth grade from the next academic year.

He also said, the youth of this country will represent at the international level. Sports allowance has already been introduced to establish sports as a profession.

Seventy local surfers are participating in the two-day event in the men’s and women’s categories.

After the inauguration, the State Minister visited designated place for surfing and laid the foundation stone.

Member of Parliament Lutfur Rahman Kajal was present on the occasion.
