The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) has seized a large stockpile of smuggled foreign liquor and arrested one individual from the Basurhat Municipality area of Companiganj Upazila, Noakhali.
The operation, conducted in the Charhazari area, resulted in the recovery of 367 bottles of foreign liquor, totaling approximately 207.375 liters. The arrested individual has been identified as Rajib Bhowmik.
Lieutenant Commander Muhit Kabir, Commander of CPC-3, Noakhali RAB-11, confirmed the matter on Wednesday. He stated that a specialized team of RAB-11 conducted the raid based on precise intelligence.
According to RAB officials, an organized smuggling syndicate had long been illegally importing foreign liquor through clandestine routes and distributing it at retail prices to various locations from their residential bases. Acting on these tips, the Noakhali camp of RAB-11 executed the operation to intercept the consignment and apprehend Bhowmik.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individual are currently underway, and RAB has reiterated its commitment to continuing such drives to eliminate drug trafficking in the region.
