Jorarganj Police have arrested seven individuals in connection with a robbery at an under-construction factory inside the Mirsarai Economic Zone. The arrests were made following a continuous 32-hour operation conducted across various locations today (Monday, August 10). Based on the information provided by the detainees, police also recovered approximately 250 meters of stolen electrical cables.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mehedi Hasan (23), Md. Rakib (21), Sujaul Haque alias Suja Ullah (24), Emdadul Haque alias Emran (28), Mizan Uddin (32), Md. Sakhawat Hossain alias Nahid (24), and Yusuf (26). All seven suspects are residents of different areas under Jorarganj Police Station.
According to police sources, an organized gang of 10 to 15 robbers broke into the under-construction factory of Bangladesh Auto Industries Limited inside the Mirsarai Economic Zone between 2:00 AM and 2:45 AM on August 9. Threatening the security personnel on duty, the robbers looted three mobile phones, around 250 meters of electrical cables, and other valuable materials. Following a case filed with Jorarganj Police Station, a specialized police unit launched intelligence operations and raids across the economic zone and nearby areas.
Confirming the successful operation, Additional Superintendent of Police in Chattogram, Md. Russel, stated that drive operations remain ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining members of the robbery gang.
