To ensure advanced, integrated and patient-centric healthcare for Bangladeshi cancer patients, a press conference and partners’ meet was held at Well Park Residence in Chattogram. Organized by the Chattogram Medical Travel Forum (CMTF) under the theme “Building Stronger Partnership for Better Cancer Care,” the event featured Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, China and its Bangladesh office as strategic partners.
Held on Wednesday (August 19, 2026), the conference brought together medical tourism agencies, travel operators, healthcare institutions, physicians, media representatives, business leaders, and CMTF members. The primary objectives were raising public awareness about cancer, emphasizing early detection, sharing accurate information on modern oncological treatments and establishing a responsible framework for Bangladeshi patients seeking medical care in China.
During the clinical session, Dr. Wu Wei, a specialist from Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, highlighted the vital role of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and personalized treatment plans tailored to a patient’s condition, cancer type, and stage. Discussions focused on advanced, minimally invasive treatments, including interventional therapy, cryoablation, microwave ablation and particle implantation.
Speakers stressed that treatments must be customized based on verified medical reports rather than exaggerated promises. Furthermore, Mohammad Akash, Assistant Manager of Business Development at the hospital’s Bangladesh office, outlined international patient support services, teleconsultations, visa guidance and B2B partnership opportunities with local agencies to ensure an ethical, transparent referral system.
