The newly appointed CEO of Standard Asiatic Oil Company Limited (SAOCL), Md. Abul Kalam Azad, exchanged views with SAOCL officers and workers on his first working day on April 19.
The meeting was attended by Manager (Sales and Marketing) Belayet Hossain, Manager (Production and Operations) Kamrul Hossain, Manager (Administration and Human Resources) Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Manager (Accounts and Finance) Md. Zakaria Habib, Kaiser Hamid, Jalal Ahmed, Ali Asgar and Md. Mamun, along with leaders of the Officers’ Association and workers’ organisations.
The Officers’ Association and CBA leaders drew the attention of the CEO to the long-standing demands and facilities of the officers and workers and said, the employees have been deprived of promotions for 10-15 years and the company’s retired officers and employees have not received post-retirement benefits (gratuity) even for 5-7 years which lead to the frustration and dissatisfaction of the employees.
They demanded from the CEO to launch the company’s Mongla Oil Installation commercially and appoint a company secretary from among the officers.
The newly appointed CEO Md. Abul Kalam Azad assured to consider the issues raised seriously in phases and take necessary steps for the overall development of the company ensuring all facilities for the officers and workers and employees and increasing business and commerce.
