Red Crescent Distributes Relief and Medical Aid in Khagrachhari

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chairman Barrister Md. Abdus Salam and board members conducted inspection at various flood-affected areas in Khagrachhari district on Saturday. Traveling from Rangamati to Khagrachhari in the morning, the six-member delegation first visited the flood-hit zones in Mahalchhari Upazila. By noon, the team arrived at the Golabari area in the district sadar, where they spoke directly with affected residents and distributed emergency relief packages—containing puffed rice, flattened rice, molasses, biscuits, saline, and soap—among 130 affected families.

During the distribution, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chairman Barrister Md. Abdus Salam reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the flood victims, stating that the Red Crescent Society would remain by their side using both national and international assistance. The event was attended by the society’s Vice Chairman Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqul Kabir, Khagrachhari District Council Chairman Shefalika Tripura, Khagrachhari Municipal Administrator Rumana Akhter, alongside other board members, unit leaders, and senior officials of the organization.

In addition to relief distribution, a free medical camp was organized to provide healthcare support and distribute free medicines to people suffering from various waterborne diseases in the flood-affected areas. Through this medical camp, health assistance and treatment were successfully extended to over a hundred residents in the district sadar’s Golabari area on Saturday.
