The Dighinala Zone of the Bangladesh Army organized a practical first aid training program and free medical camp at Babuchhara Mukh High School. Held based on the demands of the local community, the event was presided over by Captain Md. Shaykhuddin Sakline, RMO of Dighinala Zone, who served as the chief guest on Monday (August 10).
A total of 27 trainees—three from each of the nine wards under Babuchhara Union—participated in the session, with Dr. Tilak Chakma conducting the training.
The comprehensive program provided hands-on training to participants on essential emergency response techniques, equipping them with necessary skills to manage accidents, injuries, severe bleeding, fainting and other urgent medical situations. At the conclusion of the session, essential first aid kits were distributed to all participants to ensure they are prepared to respond to emergencies.
Organizers emphasized that this initiative aims to empower remote hill communities to become self-reliant in healthcare, noting that trained locals can deliver vital immediate aid during critical situations when medical centers are far away, thereby preventing complications and saving lives.
Alongside the training session, army personnel provided direct medical consultations and distributed free medicines to poor and helpless patients in the area. Local beneficiaries and officials lauded the Bangladesh Army’s efforts, stating that such welfare initiatives strengthen mutual trust, foster social harmony and build a resilient community in the region.
