A mobile court drive was conducted in the Chawkbazar area of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila targeting various net and yarn outlets, alongside fish and animal feed stores. Led by Executive Magistrates Mizanur Rahman and Sohana Khondoker of the district administration, the operation resulted in total fines of Tk 40,000 being imposed and realized under the relevant sections of the Fish and Animal Feed Act, 2010, and the Protection and Conservation of Fish Act for operating without valid licenses and supplying illegal fishing nets.

During the drive, law enforcement seized prohibited China Duari nets and current nets estimated to be worth Tk 3 lakh. All the confiscated illegal nets were subsequently destroyed on the spot to prevent further illegal fishing activities in local water bodies.

The successful enforcement operation was supported by the Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer and his representatives, fisherman community delegates, alongside members of the Bangladesh Police and Battalion Ansar who provided overall security and logistics.
