Under the slogan “Youth Be Alert, Say No to Drugs,” an anti-drug procession and discussion assembly took place on the premises of Government Haji Abdul Baten College in Sandwip Upazila today (Sunday, September 6, 2026). Organized by Sandwip Police Station, the event brought together educators, police officials and students to build social resistance against substance abuse.
The program commenced with an anti-drug awareness procession that marched from Senerhat Intersection through the main college road before arriving at the campus. Following the march, a discussion session was convened inside the college auditorium, where speakers highlighted the devastating impact of narcotics on families and society, urging citizens to assist law enforcement agencies in eradicating illicit drugs.
Principal of Government Haji Abdul Baten College Abul Hashem and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sandwip Police Station Sujon Haldar addressed the gathering alongside local teachers and students. Speaking as the key speaker, OC Sujon Haldar emphasized that policing alone cannot dismantle the drug trade, calling for collective action from teachers, students, families and the general public to safeguard the youth from addiction.
